I am 65 years old and I remember  when the intersection of Hastings and Granville engaged the type of pedestrian traffic system Mr. Geller observed in Auckland.  On the pedestrian light all pedestrians ran in all and every direction at the same time---very confusing, especially to a small child.  I think the system was discontinued c. 1950.</description>
